There is a long time that I writed a post on my blog. Well today is the day. I’ve a big news : I have started new studies at the industrial design school of University of Quebec at Montréal (UQAM).
New school, new country, new tools, new challenges
First of all, that was a dream for me to live here at least one year and that dream comes true now. I dreamed about it since my 12 years old. Quebec is such a good region. I enjoy my days here living with kind and respectful people. UQAM is a big university with more than 40.000 students so it change a lot compared to the UTBM… But I’m really settled now.
I’m writing this post today cause I’m learning new tools and one of them is really nice. I started learning Rhinoceros 6. I knew by name that software and have used it 2 or 3 times to make 3D file conversions but I don’t how I could have missed to try it. It’s a wonderful mix between CATIA, Alias or whatever CAD software and Blender 3D my favorite software ever made. So I’m really enthusiast and impatient to learn more of this software.
I just would like to share with you my first 3D render of a Rhino generated surface on Blender. This mouse takes me literally 20 minutes to be modeled. This is quick !
The bad side is that this tool like CATIA and others isn’t free like Blender 3D is. Meaning that we couldn’t improve by our own the soft and make personalized version. However, the soft is costing 195$US for learning use only. That’s for me a reasonable price for such a great software.
Stay tuned for more informations about my studies and my trip.
